A blue glow comes through the grimy windows of the Atlantic Express. Schools of fish swim by occasionally over a landscape of bright coral. Everything seems to have its own glow; especially Delta, whose viewport was blinding in the almost pitch-black car.

There are bright pink walls covered in childish crayon drawings, teddy bears and dolls lining the shelves, and in the middle of it all a little makeshift shrine made for "Mr. Bubbles" made out of odd

A single trail of smoke leaves the business end of my cigarette and ascends, out the window, into the big night sky. And as I watch it, I breathe in the sea salt air, remembering just how alone we are.
Refugees of a lost paradise, unknown and unwanted by the world above, there is nothing here for us but my old family name and a small plot of land in Georgia.
It almost makes me wonder what is going to happen to our little makeshift "family", if I weren't trying to avoid those kinds of thoughts all together.
I was so focused on my own denial, I didn't even look up when the door opened
